Holy Spirit comes via Prayer

Rushing Wind
Last Sundays service was on bringing these two facets of Christianity together and to see what the difference will be in society, community, youth of church and the people in the church itself.
We watched an excerpt of a documentary about some Eskimo communities that were in dire need of a miracle. Suicide, drug and alcohol abuse, wide spread physical and sexual assault plus anger etc were all rift. What changed in these areas was a small group of people praying and God answered and moved, he moved so much that saved Eskimos decided to burn about $80, 000 to $100, 000 worth of drugs, music, porn etc. A few years later they had a youth worship service and they had a great experience of the Holy Spirit moving and they could hear this audible sound of rushing wind which was recorded on a tape.
The thing that may get most people is that this was not a Hillsong church, nor any other pentecostal church but rather an Anglican church. This goes to show that wherever God can find willing vessels he will use and poor out the spirit too. The scripture that Pastor Phillips preached out of after the documentary was Luke 11:1-4. He talked how the disciples did not ask how to feed the four thousand with a small amount of food or how to walk on water to impress their mates but rather how to pray.
We as humans want it the other way. We want to pray for 5 minutes and then see God move and pray over the sick for 30 minutes or hours, Jesus did it the other way. He prayed alone for hours (some say up to five hours at a time) and then prayed over the sick in a short period of time and saw answered prayers. It is not just because he is Gods son but rather that he was filled and prepared by praying before hand.

I am going to post some sermons/ offerings that I have felt God has given me so I can get some input and improve them before I preach them. I do realise that a well written sermon does not mean anything except via the Holy Spirit. […]
