London 2012 Olympics logo

2012 London Olympics logo
It also has been pulled apart by many graphic and other designers and through it all I have not heard one good review about it. I do not know the exact figure this package cost but I have heard that it was around $700, 000. If this is right, it was to costly and the business who designed it must be laughing their way to the bank.
Personally the thing that gets me is that the zero, looks like the simplified version of Australia. The only thing that is missing is Tasmania but then again the tilted square between the 1 and 2 could be it.
Personally as a design, it looks ok but for a big event like the Olympics it sucks. The reason why they designed it with the graffiti look was to try and get young people interested in the games. That is a good idea but a jazzed up logo will only help the same way a band aide does over a gapping wound.
