How to manage time to become fulfilled and balanced in your job

Time Management
What works for you
The thing to remember when reading this and other ‘time management’ tips, blogs etc is that everyone is different and some things wont work for others. The best tip I can give you is to trial and error what you read and stick to what works for you.
Read and research:
Read and research ways of time management. One of the best online solutions would be freelance switch which is a blog about freelancing and covers a wide range of design areas.
I personally find blogs easier than books as they are longer but there are many good books out there.
Turn off distractions:
If you waste time surfing the net, emailing, reading blogs, gaming, watching TV/ movies. Turn them off and only do them as a reward once you have finished a task etc. 15 Ways to Create an Hour a Day of Extra Time … for Solitude is a great article that lists 15 time wasters.
Have outside interests:
Do you have interests or hobbies outside your job? Even if you enjoy what you do at the moment, find something else you enjoy outside as you wont always enjoy your job.
I personally enjoy the web, I design websites and enjoy reading and writing blogs BUT I do not always enjoy it and find other interests which allows me to ‘get away’ from the computer like reading Phantom comics and hanging out with my mates and fiance.
Good other tips on links:
These links are from the Freelance Switch website which helped this article and also for me to find a better balance in my time management. If you have any other tips or links, please share them.
