The week it was

A fairly quite week compared to some this year BUT it is finals time, so the real games begin.

Trade talk (poaching/ meat market) will also begin with 8 teams out of the finals and again ruckmen are in hot demand with Jolly and Seaby among some being talked about.

In other trade news Judd is being chased big time by Carlton especially who has apparently offered Brendon Fevola and one of their three top 20 picks they have.

At the beginning of the year, I said Joel Selwood would win the raising star award and I was correct with Joel winning.

AFL Finals Week one tipping

I am on 114 tips while Ari is on 109 and we will continue the tipping through the finals.

Port Adelaide vs West Coast - West Cost have injuries but they have experience and know how to win final games. Cousins vs Kane Cornes and Glass vs Westhaulf are two match ups that could decide the game, Port have pace and a lot of it and last time they meet, they were too fast for the Eagles.

Hawthorn vs Adelaide - Adelaide flogged them last time they meet however I very doubt it will happen this week. Hawks have pace and tall timber which Adelaide lack in both areas and Hawks have won ugly before (way Adelaide play) with wins against Saints and Geelong earlier on in the year.

Collingwood vs Sydney - Youth (Collingwood) verses age (Sydney) and I think Sydney are on the way down and while they have looked good at times and have experience in finals I think Collingwoods pace will win.

Geelong vs Kangaroos - Kangaroos are the surprise of the year and just goes to show hard work and attacking the goal square does pay off. While all teams in the top four have a good chance (count off 5-8) to win the premiership I would say its between Geelong and whoever wins between Port and West Coast.
