Web Design by Content .02 Book review
Recently I commented that as designers we need to look off line for inspiration otherwise we will just continue to rehash old designs and the Internet will become very boring, very quickly. This book review may seem like a contradiction but Web Design by Content .02 is a handy reference book to add to your shelf and use.
A handy reference addition to your book shelf?
As a western designer, I very rarely look in other countries or outside of my comfort zone for ideas when looking online, this book however includes world wide examples to broaden your scope. Another good thing about this book is the non-bias towards one style like other collction of websites focusing on styles like retro, web 2.0 (even though its not a style), illustration plus more.
Structure of Web Design by Content .02 golden
Providing screen shots of websites seems an easy way to make a buck and I would not have personally brought the book except for the fact that they provided screen shots for different areas that are handy:
- Art
- Design & illustration
- Food & drink
- Health
- Services
With these examples it helps not having to look and search online. This is version two and there is a newer version numbered three which I will most definitely have to add to my wish list for future buying.
