Keens Driver Training website
Just finished another website this time for a Bunbury (South West) business who provide driver training and licences for trucks. Trucks are very important for Australia with most of the countries resources (iron ore etc) and providing fuel and food for the country transported by trucks. The old saying is that if trucks were not around Australia would cease to exist.
Keens Driver Training did not have a web presence before and had their main competitor having a web presence. The domain name is http://www.keensdrivertraining.com
The client wanted access to be able to edit the pages themselves and have little amount of computer knowledge. I used WordPress to build the website on however not to confuse the client, I deleted sections of the backend, like:
- Posts
- Comments
- Design
This enabled them not to be confused. I tried a admin menu Plugin but that does not work for 2.5 so I ended up manually editting the menu. I also deleted the extra pages in the themes folder. While this may cause some purists to be angry and to say “What about when you upgrade?”, it does the job.
Keens is also using adwords to generate some clients who search for truck driver training and similar searches. I also use google webmaster tools to help Keens Driver Training to be found via google.com.au, its called “geographic targetting”. Also do not forget adding the business to googlemaps and tracking everything with Analytics.
Hopefully all these subtle little additions will help Keens be the best and first place for South West Truck driver training in Western Australia.

You did a nice job on that site, its a very clean and bold look. Why are they opting to advertise via Adwords rather than get an SEO firm to do some link building? It’s a better long-term solution.
