A coffee table book featuring paintings and other artwork by members of the Mangeshkar clan was released recently. Aptly named “Strokes of Harmony”, the book features mostly works by singer Usha Mangeshkar, but highlights works by other members of the famed musical family.
The book could perhaps be called the family tribute to the late Lata Mangeshkar, who died on February 6, at the age of 92.
The coffee table book contains 129 paintings in total, most of which are painted by Usha Mangeshkar using various techniques. In all, the book has 35 watercolors, 16 oils on canvas, 28 pencil sketches, seven oil pastels, 13 record covers, 21 landscapes, and nine other paintings by various members of the Mangeshkar family.
The book features works by Usha Mangeshkar, Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Anuja Bhosle, Saanjali Khadikar, Zanai Bhosle, Ranjay Bhosle and two from the Nightingale of India itself.
The book was published at Prabhu Kunj, the residence of the Mangeshkar family, by famous painter Vasudeo Kama.
The book was designed by Nutan Asgaonkar and published by Latika Creations.
Mayuresh Pai of Latika Creations said, “This book is the materialization of Lata Didi’s (sic) heartfelt wishes to bring forth paintings by Usha Tai (sic) which the latter had always been hesitant to present.”
